FleetMatics User Conference Creates a Rewarding Forum for Customers to Share Best Practices for Best Results

FleetMatics customers get an intimate tour of the new Fleetmatics 8.5 GPS Tracking System and an opportunity to share their experiences and learn ways to improve performance and reduce costs from peers

READING, ENGLAND (22 November 2011) – FleetMatics, a leading global provider of fleet management solutions for commercial fleet vehicles announced today the first-ever FleetMatics Regional User Conference held 16 November 2011 in Reading. This gathering of over 30 existing FleetMatics customers not only provided an in-depth and intimate tour of the new FleetMatics 8.5 GPS Tracking System from CTO Peter Mitchell, but created an opportunity for primary users of the software, fleet managers, business owners and decision makers to meet with key members of FleetMatics’ Development Team.  The FleetMatics customers were able to share their experiences and discover new ways to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.

“Improving customer service is at the heart of what FleetMatics provides its customers”, said Managing Director - Customer Experience, Joe Boyle, “and we feel that by bringing a wide range of customers together to share their experiences with other customers, we can do a better job of using historical information to provide fleet managers and business owners improved performance.”

As part of the program, FleetMatics provided three sessions highlighting such valuable features as Using Points of Interest (POIs) to Manage Customer Service, Saving on Fuel with Reports, Alerts and Fuel Card Integration, and Getting the Executive View by Setting up Industry Benchmarks in My FleetMatics.

According to FleetMatics CTO Peter Mitchell, “Client input has always played a tremendous part in the improvements we have been able to put into our product, which we believe is the easiest to use GPS fleet management software on the market. The latest update of the FleetMatics 8.5 system features key improvements, driven by customer feedback. This includes benchmarking against industry standards, believed to be an industry first.  We also introduced speed Limit alerts and other functional improvements to our software.”

“FleetMatics 8.5 provides such a wealth of fleet-performance data, reports, history, trends, and industry benchmarks, that we want our customers to get the most out of it. And the best way we feel that this can happen is by putting our customers’ heads together so that they can learn from one another, and we can learn from them.”

As FleetMatics developers continue to incorporate the latest technologies to improve their product, the company also continues to keep a watchful eye and ear open to their customers and how they are using FleetMatics GPS Tracking to maximise their operating efficiency and reducing costs. This historic FleetMatics User Conference is another prime example.

Stuart Kemp, from Bagnalls Haulage said “The day was full of a lot of great information and showed me lots of uses for the software that we have not thought about.  I have been reminded how much value we can get from the system.”

Paula Harris from Veolia said “I found the sessions really informative and it was interesting to see the benefits other companies are getting from FleetMatics.  It is nice to attend an event that delivers value rather than sells to me.”
