The link between employee morale and quality services is long established. Not only are happy employees more productive, but they are also more likely to continue to be loyal to your company, and pass on their positive attitude to your customers. To keep your staff smiling, here are five ways to boost employee morale…

Set clear goals
One sure-fire way to keep a smile on the face of your employees is to ensure they all know exactly what is expected of them. Be sure to set clear goals and objectives with regards to performance to make sure everyone in your organisation -- from top to bottom -- is reading from the same page. 

Share successes
Everyone likes to be congratulated on a job well done, so encourage feedback both from within your organisation and from customers out in the field. Share any positive feedback throughout the company so employees can see their efforts are being widely acknowledged.   

Reward hard work
When employees work hard, they deserve to be recognised, and incentive programs are a great way to do just that. Rewarding the best employees each week or each month not only incentivises better performance but it can also be a quick and easy way to show your appreciation to your workforce. 

Encourage growth

Nothing boosts morale within an organisation like the opportunity for career growth and progression. Take the time to find out what skills and talents exist within your team and think about how they can be developed for future use in the business. This doesn’t always have to be a new job title or promotion; it could just mean an expansion of responsibilities or the opportunity to gain or improve upon a skill. 
One of the simplest -- and most often overlooked -- ways to improve morale throughout your business is to communicate. Check in with your team regularly to address any concerns or challenges and offer ways to help overcome them. Finally, if there are any changes within the business, be clear and transparent with your employees and encourage their feedback to let them know their opinions are valued.
